"I See Miracles in My Business Every Day!"
Many of you have heard me say this phrase, "I see miracles in my business every day."
Today was definitely one of those celebration/finish line/miracle days. When you have a few minutes to read a heart-warming true-life answered prayer story, please read this.
Once upon a time...several years ago, we helped a nice couple, Bob & Pat Guinn, sell their home at 1695 Miller Ave. (that cute home with the beautiful roses right on the corner of Prospect). As you can imagine, the location was a challenge although the home was beautiful and lovingly maintained. All of us on the team, (Judy, Zee, Weena and I) really enjoyed working with them. I knew we would miss them and I really wanted to work again with someone else like Bob: straightforward, knew what he wanted, cooperative and realistic about the market and his goals. When we were completing their paperwork, I asked Bob, "Who is the next person you know who could use my help?"
A faraway look softened his bright blue eyes, and he sighed, "My daughter Michele. She grew up in the area and is renting here. We even explored ways for her to buy this home. It just takes so much money for the down payment and then the monthly payment," Bob said. "I really wish she could buy a home nearby but with things the way they are, I just do not?see how it will ever happen."
"Bob, I see miracles in my business every day," I said. "We will all pray for Michele that someday it can happen for her, and you know I will stay in touch with her about any opportunities that could fit her family and budget."
Over the years we talked about various opportunities, but nothing quite fit. "Michele, I see miracles in my business every day.Just keep praying for the right one."
A few weeks ago, Michele called, excited about a lovely home at 4989 Castlewood, that had come back to the market, and due to economic changes and low interest rates, this beauty was a real possibility for them. Michele and Rob looked at the home, we reviewed the reports and disclosures, brought the children and her Aunt Page to see it, then wrote an offer. It took some negotiating, but we succeeded!
When we signed off, I kept looking at Michele (who shares the same gorgeous curls, profile and beautiful blue eyes as her father) and remembering our conversation and his strong desire for her to be able to buy a home. He had passed away but I knew he would be so proud and happy for her. On Oct. 1st they moved in! How thrilling to participate in their miracle!
So the next time I ask you, "Who is the next person you know who wants to buy their first home, buy a bigger home, downsize to a smaller home or invest in real estate?" think of someone you know who needs my help...and how exciting it will be, and how good you will feel to become part of someone elses miracle and answered prayer.
Not sure if it is a miracle? Their closing date, October 1st just happened to be 10 years to the day Michele moved back to San Jose from Hawaii...and the day the signed off just happened to be the birthday of her father Bob. This is why I do what I do, I help make peoples dreams come true.
